What exactly is Pickleball?

Pickleball is like the love child of tennis, badminton, and ping pong. It's played on a smaller court with a paddle and a plastic ball that is roughly the same size as a tennis ball but is made from plastic and has small holes.

How do you play?

Pickelball can be played in both singles and doubles but is more commonly played in doubles format. Points can only be won when you are serving, after serving the ball you must let the returning ball bounce before you hit it. The seven-foot zone on each side of the net is known as the non-volley zone, more commonly referred to as “the kitchen” of a pickleball court. Players are not permitted to volley while standing in it. The kitchen rule exists to prevent a player from standing at the net and smashing every hit. Players volley back and forth over a net, trying to outsmart and outmaneuver their opponents. It's all about strategy, finesse, and a touch of luck. (And maybe a little bit of sweat, depending on how intense the game gets!)

Why is it called Pickleball?

Now, you might be wondering, why on earth is it called "pickleball"? Well, the story goes that the game was named after the creators' dog, Pickles. countless other theory's exist but I like the idea of a dog called pickle.
